Chairman of the Interstate Scientific Council for Emergency Situations of the CIS countries, Head of the Project Complex of the Federal Target Program «Risk Reduction and Mitigation of Natural and Man-Made Emergencies in the Russian Federation». Deputy supervisor of the special program of basic research of the Presidium of the Russian Academy of Sciences «Interdisciplinary fundamental, search and applied research of the problems of analyzing and managing system security using the criteria of strategic risks».

For achievements in the field of ensuring the strength and resource of unique equipment, he was awarded the title of laureate of the Prize of the USSR Council of Ministers, the Prize of the Government of the Russian Federation and the State Prize of the Russian Federation in the field of science and technology.
