Abstract

Modeling of penumbra and umbra periods by Earth and Moon as well as modeling of performances of artificial lunar satellite (ALS) during eclipse periods were performed in frames of this study. Periodicity of umbra (penumbra) by Earth and Moon and periods of their coincidence were assessed. Assessment of penumbra and umbra periods duration was performed based on developed models for two variants of ALS orbit planes depending on orbital period, and as well assessment of orbit variations as a result of Earth and Moon motion was made. Recommendations are formulated concerning requirements for ALS operation during periods of penumbra and umbra by Earth and Moon.
