Abstract

This article deals with objectives of the Russian nuclear industry in the field radioactive waste treatment which has become most relevant in the connection with the introduction of the law “On RW Treatment….”. The research of ways of safety and efficiency improvement in handling RW is being conducted in Russia today, and among them characterization of waste deserves special attention. This article is illustrated with the experience of organization and usage of RW characterization systems in exploitation and dismantling of objects in the Czech Republic (the example of Envinet a.s.).
